Digital Sky (Russian company connected with fraud) 200 million into Facebook

OK.. so that does it. Closing my Facebook account today. The same people with investments in mail.ru (a common location for phishing and other fraud sites) are now heavily invested in Facebook.

I did complete the delete process of my account.  A number of friends contacted me not long after inquiring about my sudden dissappearance.  I guess I should have let  them know before just doing dark in FB.    I have this outlet, and here I do not need to work about posted IP (photography mainly) issues.  The FB  EULA basically said that contrary to other IP law, then owned *EVERYTHING* uploaded to FB.  Following a press backlash they said they would not enforce it but I don’t think they changed it either.   Well, it’s no longer an issue. 🙂

City Crime Incident Map – every city should have one!

I found this link of the local Kitsap area newspaper (  ) to an on-line Crime Map!    Very interesting tool to see just how bad crime is in the local area.  You can bring up all incidents in a date range, or create a sub-selection of specific crimes.

Crime Incident Map

The reports made by officers do not reflect actual criminal convictions, only the initial report taken at the scene by a law enforcement officer. Some incidents, such as suicides and rapes, aren’t published in adherence to the Kitsap Sun’s policies of what is published in the newspaper and on kitsapsun.com.

Westsoundguide.com‘s criminal incident map is made up of reports taken by law enforcement officers from the Bainbridge Island Police Department, Bremerton Police Department, Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office, Port Orchard Police Department, and Poulsbo Police Department.

This seems like a really great tool for Real Estate.  Wonder if that awesome house you found for a great price, is so cheap because it’s in the middle drive-by-city?  Now you can, at least for some Norhtwest citys do just that.  LINK:  Bremerton Area Crime Map

Narcotics Activity – May 2009

Assaults – Map 2009

I applaud the paper for putting together this information.  Every locality should be required by law to produce this sort of useful map + police blotter data mining.

Murder of a hero’s dog.

9 days after it happened, the mainstream-media are finally picking up this story.

Marcus Luttrell (American hero and former Navy Seal), is awakened at 1:00AM when a group of young men murdered his recovery dog, with a single gunshot.  The thought of what those wastes of skin did to this hero is nauseating.

They recently released the 911 tapes (I’m looking for the links) of his chase of these people.  It turns out these dirtbags had been murdering dogs for quite some time in the area, and that night they made the mistake of kill this man’s dog.

After the punks where captured, one of them had that audacity to mouth off to Marcus about ‘coming back to get him’. The restraint Mr. Luttrell exhibited upon confronting the punks is, amazing.
